Darren Harrington

Darren Harrington , D.D.S.

Darren is a native of Clinton, North Carolina. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1994. Upon graduating from high school, Darren enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He graduated with distinction from UNC in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Darren continued his education at West Virginia University where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree with honors in 2002.

After graduation from dental school, Darren was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. During his distinguished Naval career, Darren completed a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL. Upon completing his residency, Darren reported to Camp Lejeune, NC to provide dental services for the Fleet Marine Forces. In 2004, Darren deployed to the Middle East to provide routine and emergency services to military personnel in direct support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Darren joined Coastal Cosmetic Family Dentistry in September of 2006.

Darren enjoys all aspects of general dentistry. Darren strives to stay abreast of current dental techniques and technology through continuing education as well as his involvement with multiple dental organizations. Darren is currently involved with completing a yearlong dental implant continuum.  Upon completion of the 216 hours of continuing education, Darren will be a fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologist.  Darren is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the North Carolina Dental Society.

Darren’s wife Ashley, owns Coastal Therapy Services in Southport where she specializes in incontinence therapy for men and women.  Darren and Ashley have one daughter, Ellie who was born in 2006. When Darren is not practicing dentistry, he enjoys fishing, boating, and spending time with his family.
