Dr. Angie Skinner

Dr. Angie Skinner is a board-certified pediatric dentist from Asheville NC. She earned both her Doctor of Dental Surgery and her Master’s degree in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from the University of Kentucky.

A respected leader in her profession, Dr. Angie has served as Past President of both the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

The majority of her career was spent in private practice in western North Carolina with Great Beginnings Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics. Dr. Angie has always been passionate about creating a nurturing environment where children can begin their dental journeys with confidence. She built her practice around the belief that a dental office should feel like a true dental home—warm, welcoming, and child-centered. She is overjoyed to join the Coastal Pediatric Dentistry team, who share these same values. One of her favorite career moments came from a 4-year-old patient who asked, “Dr. Angie, can I have my birthday party here?”

Dr. Angie is married to Dr. Scott Skinner, a prosthodontist in private practice. Outside of dentistry, they frequently return to the mountains to tend their flower farm in Burnsville, NC and visit family. She enjoys her involvement in the French Broad River Garden Club and the Garden Club of America.

Dr. Angie and Dr. Scott love traveling and adventuring with their adult children. She has traveled to Haiti and Bolivia, South America to participate in dental service work. She comes from a musical and active family and enjoys playing piano, learning cello, time outside to garden and hike.
